What is Csat®?

Csat® is a premium inside-out ingredient for weight management, based on a proprietary carob blend†*. It is standardized to ≥ 21.5 % Sliminoids® by UV, GC and HPLC. Sliminoids® are a totum of the main bioactive compounds found in carob, responsible of the mechanism of action and the therapeutical activity :

Galactomannan (≥ 20% by UV) is a fiber derived from the seed endosperm, responsible for the satiating effects, and the cholesterol and triacylglyceride lowering benefits of our product.

Inositols (≥ 5% by GC) improve insulin-receptor sensitivity and promote glucose intake through the GLUT4 transporter into the muscle and adipose cells.

Gallic acid (≥ 0.1 % by HPLC) is the main polyphenol present in carob pod which can reduce generalized oxidative stress in situations such as metabolic syndrome.

How does it work?

There has been identified the following main Csat® mechanisms of action:

  • Satiety and Lipid control: Galactomannans form a viscous mass in the gastrointestinal tract, which contributes to enhanced satiety by physically occupying volume and delaying gastric emptying. This gel-like matrix also entraps lipids and bile salts, reducing their intestinal absorption and thereby contributing to lower levels of LDL cholesterol and triglycerides. Additionally, galactomannans may help regulate lipid metabolism through partial inhibition of HMG-CoA reductase activity *.
  • Insulin sentivity: Inositols enhance insulin receptor sensitivity, promoting glucose uptake from the bloodstream via GLUT4 transporters*.
  • Antioxidant Support: Gallic acid helps counteract oxidative stress—a key factor in metabolic syndrome—by neutralizing reactive oxygen speciessup>*.
