What is Csat®?

Csat® is a premium inside-out ingredient for weight management, based on a proprietary carob blend†*. It is standardized to ≥ 25.1% Sliminoids® by UV, GC and HPLC. Sliminoids® are a totum of the main bioactive compounds found in carob, which contribute to Csat®’s investigated mechanisms of actio:

Galactomannan (≥ 20% by UV) is a fiber derived from the seed endosperm, associated with satiety and mechanisms involved in lipid metabolism.

Inositols (≥ 5% by GC) are involved in insulin-signaling pathways and glucose uptake through GLUT4 transporters in muscle and adipose cells.

Gallic acid (≥ 0.1 % by HPLC) is the main polyphenol found in carob pods and contributes to antioxidant-related mechanisms relevant to oxidative stress associated with metabolic syndrome.

How does it work?

Csat® has been investigated through several complementary mechanisms of action:

  • Satiety and Lipid control: Galactomannans form a viscous mass in the gastrointestinal tract, contributing to satiety by increasing volume and delaying gastric emptying. Recent in vitro research also suggests that Csat® may influence gut microbiota, SCFA production and satiety-related signalling pathways, including GLP-1 and CCK*.
  • Insulin sentivity: Inositols enhance insulin receptor sensitivity, promoting glucose uptake from the bloodstream via GLUT4 transporters*.
  • Antioxidant Support: Gallic acid helps counteract oxidative stress—a key factor in metabolic syndrome—by neutralizing reactive oxygen species*.
